WebQuest: Chapitre 7

Des cartes postales de mes vacances!

Introduction:

In chapter 17 we are studying travel, vacation preferences, hotel stays, and the uses of l'Imparfait and le Passé Composé. For example, you use the Imparfait with weather, but use the passé composé when you talk about the activities you did earlier today. We all like to participate in different seasonal activities, and the French-speaking world has many opportunities to enjoy resorts for each season too. It is time for you to discover some of them - from the beauty of "le carnivale d'hiver" Winter Carnival in Québec, or la Côte d'azur in southern France, ski in the Alps, or go scuba diving in the Carribean! Whichever you choose, you are going to go on an "online vacation," of your choosing, and then you are going to send back messages to your family or friends about what you did. You must use the passé composé and the

imparfait to do this, so prepare carefully!

WebQuest Task:

You decided that either you are sick of the snow and the cold and needed to escape to a warmer climate to a "station balnéaire", or that you are so inspired by this cold snowy weather that you must go to a "station de sports d'hiver" After visiting some of these websites, choose your vacation destination, and write down:

a list of places you visit during your 5 day trip (des musées, des centres commerciales, etc.)

  • what the weather was like;
  • restaurants you visited,
  • an activity you did each day, and
  • what you purchased while at your resort.

Then you will write a carte postale to a friend or family member for each day telling them:

about each of the days you were there;

  • What the weather was like
  • Where you went;
  • What you did;
  • Tell them how you did things using adverbs; and
  • Use three direct object pronouns in your five cards. (e.g. Le chapeau coûtait 20€ et je l'ai acheté vitement!)
  • Also, tell if you would recommend for them to visit your destination to do something.

Each post card must tell what you did on each of the five days. However, like any note you send, you might say things about your meals, your lodging, your companions, as well as your activities. ** WHERE THE RUBRIC BELOW TELLS YOU "SENTENCES" YOU MUST USE 5 DIRECT OBJECT PRONOUNS TO TALK ABOUT WHAT YOU DID WITHOUT GRAMMATICAL ERRORS. YOU MUST ALSO USE LE Passé Composé IN EACH POST CARD AS WELL AS L'Imparfait.

Bonne chance, et alors, bon voyage!
